Code of Ethics

Code of Ethics

Throughout more than 70 years of history, we have seen different stages of growth, consolidation and transformation. Over this time, although Meliá and its values have evolved, our nature as a family business has remained intact.

This evolution has allowed us to review and improve the framework for Company behaviour, adapting it to the new values and commitments of Meliá to guarantee coherence, the protection of our employees and the constant reinforcement of our long-term relationships with all our stakeholders.

These commitments are precisely the basis for their definition and for the relationships of trust and pride in belonging that we aim to establish with all our stakeholders.

The first Meliá Code of Ethics was approved in 2012 and amended in 2018 and contains behavioural principles that provide order and bring meaning to our Company values. It is not a collection of penalties nor regulations. It is the tip of the entire internal regulatory framework that defines our governance model.

It defines the basis around which internal policies, regulations, processes and procedures are aligned. It is specifically designed to guide the ethical relationships and commitments that we have made with our stakeholders as a Company.

In 2024 we have once again revised our Code of Ethics, adapting it to the latest legislative, social and Company changes, but maintaining its essence and its main values and principles.

Code of Ethics for Suppliers

Meliá builds long-term relationships based on a model of trust, respect and mutual benefit, with a strong commitment to ethics and responsibility. Suppliers are an essential part of the success of Meliá as a company. Collaboration with our suppliers and the work we do together allow us to guarantee the highest quality services to our customers, ensuring the present and future of all companies.

Social awareness, the competitive environment and the evolution of the business have led companies to be held increasingly responsible for impacts in their supply chain. As part of its firm commitment to consolidate its position as a sustainable and responsible company and protect and strengthen its reputation, Meliá has made this part of its business model and ethical principles, resulting in the implementation of its Supplier Code of Ethics.
