The second edition of the Re Think Hotel awards has recognized the iconic five-star hotel in Tenerife as one of the top 10 best hotel sustainability and rehabilitation projects in Spain. The winning projects focus on improvements in CSR, the rehabilitation of hotel facilities, energy efficiency, and integration with the natural environment.
Re Think Hotel is an initiative that brings together the public and private sectors with the common goal of raising interest and awareness in the hotel industry about sustainable rehabilitation, both due to its economic and environmental benefits and also for the generation of a key strategic value for the future development of the industry.
Amongst the features of the hotel are its wastewater treatment plant, desalination plant, recharging facilities for electric cars, organic salt chlorination system in all its swimming pools, heat recovery systems for heating swimming pools, more than 100 containers for selective waste collection, and the use of organic fertilizers.
