Gabriel Escarrer Jaume and Meliá Hotels International have won two awards at the Roca Hotel Industry Awards organised by Curt Ediciones. The Executive Vice President and CEO of Meliá received the Hotel and Tourism Personality Award in recognition of his career in charge of one of the most important travel companies in Spain and also for his commitment to the hotel industry. Escarrer collected the award personally at a gala event held yesterday in Barcelona.
The ME Dubai Hotel also received the award for the Best International Hotel of a Spanish Hotel Chain due to the uniqueness of its architecture, designed entirely by the late Zaha Hadid.
In the words of Gabriel Escarrer, “it has been a pleasure to be able to attend the Roca Awards and an honour to receive these two awards. I am extremely proud to lead Meliá Hotels International which, as these awards show, always seeks the highest degree of excellence in each of its hotels".
