The vibrant and historic city of Madrid has long been a source of inspiration for numerous artistic disciplines, contributing to one of the richest and most expansive cultures in the world. This diverse and lively culture is what INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Valdebebas, the newest addition to the INNSiDE by Meliá lifestyle brand, aims to celebrate by collaborating with various artists who bring inspiration and life to its facilities. This focus on artistic expression was the driving force behind the hotel’s welcome event, which served as a tribute to Madrid. The event was a resounding success, attracting over 200 guests, including notable figures such as Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, and Borja Carabante, Delegate of the Government Area of Urbanism, Environment and Mobility.

The opening event, themed “Madrid, my muse,” took place last night at the hotel’s premises, where attendees were greeted by a meticulously curated ambiance reflecting the unique and authentic identity of the INNSiDE brand. Throughout the evening, a variety of activities highlighted some of the most iconic artistic disciplines deeply embedded in Madrid’s cultural history—painting, gastronomy, cinema, and music. Through a thoughtfully designed visual and cultural presentation, the hotel celebrated the essence of Madrid, showcasing its unmistakable character and rich artistic tradition. The event seamlessly connected the modernity of the hotel’s facilities with the soul of Spain’s capital, offering guests an immersive experience that truly embodied the spirit of the city.

Energy, urbanism, and vibrant colour were at the heart of the event, with renowned artists Cachetejack chosen to represent the artistic side of the celebration. Their works are featured throughout the hotel, adding a creative touch to the space. During the event, the artists shared insights into their inspiration behind the development of their pieces for INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas. They also wowed the audience with a live painting performance, creating a large canvas in homage to Velázquez's Las Meninas, one of Madrid’s most iconic works, which is displayed at the Prado Museum.

Music played a special role as well, with a DJ Set that brought back beloved tracks from Madrid’s cultural past and present. Cinema was also represented, with iconic scenes from films that captured the essence of Madrid and its charming corners shown throughout the event. Gastronomy added a local flavour to the evening, as guests enjoyed tapas and pinchos that paid tribute to traditional Madrid cuisine, ensuring a culinary experience to suit all tastes.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Álvaro Sans and José Antonio Méndez Moral, the architects responsible for the hotel’s interior design, and Marco Colomer, President of the Pryconsa group. Their presence added prestige to the occasion, marking the official celebration of the hotel as a new cultural hub in Madrid.

Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, emphasized the significance of the new hotel as a unique offering that allows guests to experience the local Madrid culture from the heart of the city's innovation and development: “The opening of this hotel represents a significant commitment from the INNSiDE brand to the growth and development of this area, Valdebebas, which is quickly becoming a ‘second city’ in Madrid. Innovation, culture, and environmental sustainability are key values that Meliá shares with this burgeoning area of our capital city, contributing to the quality and diversification of tourism in Madrid."

Marco Colomer, President and CEO of the Pryconsa Group, added that the joint development of the more than 64,500 square metres for the two projects in Valdebebas—INNSiDE Meliá Valdebebas and the upcoming Sanitas Valdebebas hospital—represented an enormous challenge. While celebrating the hotel's inauguration, he shared the significance of the hospital, set to open in the summer of this year. Pryconsa now adds these two assets to its portfolio of leased properties, which includes 364,717 square metres of owned space across Spain, Portugal, and Germany, including two other hotels leased to Meliá Hotels International.

As a lifestyle brand within the Meliá Hotels International portfolio, INNSiDE by Meliá remains dedicated to promoting destinations by showcasing local values and stories. This marks the brand’s second hotel in Madrid after the success of INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Gran Vía. With Valdebebas as its chosen location, the brand strengthens its commitment to offering guests the chance to discover a rapidly developing area where modernity and sustainability meet. Its prime position near Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and just minutes from IFEMA makes the hotel an ideal destination for both business travellers and independent adventurers seeking accommodation that meets their needs.

As demonstrated during the inauguration event, INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas showcases an impressive array of artistic works throughout its facilities, further solidifying the brand's deep commitment to the local culture of the cities where its hotels are located.
